The Bengal Fuzzies
How Patterns Develop
​
Most Bengal kittens go through a stage we call the "Fuzzies"
Like a wild-cat cub, Bengal kittens typically develop a coat that camouflages or mutes their markings
(like the gray fuzzy fur on these baby cheetahs).
At about six weeks old nature hides a Bengal kitten's pattern with white tipped guard hairs we call the “fuzzies".
Usually between the ages of four and nine months, the
sleek adult coat reemerges.
We are amazed at how much some kittens change!
I am often asked how a certain kitten's coat color
and pattern will look when it matures.
The following are examples to give you an idea of the
changes a coat may go through as the kitten grows.
